What is Aesthetic Dentistry?
Aesthetic dentistry is where science and art come together in dental treatment. Rather than being a specific discipline or type of treatment, it encompasses all dental treatment disciplines with the aim of creating the best outcome for the patient, from an aesthetic, functional and biological perspective.
More than just cosmetic...
In other words, it is a individualized treatment. At Vident, we look at your dental problem and offer a solution for your dental health and function, while at the same time ensuring a beautiful and natural appearance. Our goal is to mimic what your teeth would be like if you didn't have dental problems and your teeth and gums were in ideal condition. This is not the same as cosmetic dentistry, which strictly speaking is about changing the appearance of your teeth
The possible treatments within aesthetic dentistry are:
Bleaching (in-office or home): a gel based on hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide oxidizes the existing discolorations, making the teeth whiter. This can be done at home with individualized bleaching braces or in practice with an additional initiator or laser. The options and indications must be discussed with the dentist and depend on the type of discoloration. See further at bleaching section
Reshaping: these are minor corrections to the shape of the teeth by polishing or extending edges or corners of the teeth. The removal itself is usually done with composite (a tooth-colored filling material).
Alignment: small corrections to the position of the teeth using blocks or transparent, custom-made braces. These treatments are done in consultation with the orthodontist.
Veneers / facings: similar to a shield around the tooth that can correct the color, shape and (to a limited extent) position of the teeth. This can be done with composite or porcelain. Both treatments are wonderful solutions with the correct indication and offer the most possibilities for aesthetic recovery.
Crowns: are porcelain-ceramic caps over the teeth that encompass the entire tooth. They are especially indicated when replacing old, existing metal-porcelain crowns or for teeth that have already been extensively filled. The crowns give the dental technician maximum freedom when reconstructing the new teeth.

"Ik heb beroep gedaan op Vident Clininc voor het plaatsen van een tandimplantaat. Ik ben er heel tevreden mee. Als het om mijn gezondheid gaat, ben ik heel kieskeurig bij het bepalen van mijn specialist. Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat dit de juiste keuze was, omdat ik een vriendelijke en professionele behandeling kreeg. Bedankt!"
